Discover the Waqrapukara Tour, a full-day adventure from Cusco that combines trekking, nature, and Andean history at one of the region’s most distinctive archaeological sites. The journey takes you to the Waqrapukara Fortress, reaching a maximum altitude of 4650 m / 15,256 ft, while crossing high-Andean landscapes where you can appreciate the local flora and fauna.The experience includes approximately 5 hours and 30 minutes of hiking between the outbound and return routes, as well as a guided visit to the main areas of Waqrapukara, including Intipunku, the main plaza, towers, terraces, the Wiracocha Enclosure, and rock paintings depicting llamas. With a moderate difficulty level, this tour is ideal for travelers who want to explore an archaeological site away from the busiest tourist routes while enjoying the landscapes surrounding the Apurímac Canyon.

Itinerary
04:00 hrs. The tour begins picking up from your hotel and then travel for 2 hours by car until Sangarara where we will have breakfast. Then we will continue to the Rinconada town where we walk 2 and a half hour until reach Waqrapukara. We will be able to appreciate the flora, typical fauna and surprising landscapes of the area. Arriving in Waqrapukara we will have a guided tour observing the following places: Intipunku (Puerta del Sol), main square, Torreones, terraces, etc. After the guided tour and having taken photos, we will return walking 3 hours to Sangarara where we will have lunch. 18:00 hrs.
