Discover the Qorihuillca Canyons, also known as the 7 Cañones de Qorihuillca, on a full-day excursion from Ayacucho. This natural attraction is located in Huamanga Province and consists of narrow passages and rock formations shaped by erosion, with walls reaching between 25 and 50 meters high. The area is located at approximately 3005 m / 9,859 ft above sea level.The adventure begins in the Qorihuillca Community, where we will start an approximately 1.5-hour hike through the canyon cracks. Along the route, we can observe the different shapes created by erosion, narrow passages, and sections with limited light. After exiting the canyons, we will ascend along a trail to a bridle path and follow it back to the starting point. The visit is carried out with a guide and requires care in the narrow and rocky sections.

Itinerary
QORIHUILLCA CANYONS
08:00 hrs. We will travel from Ayacucho to the Qorihuillca Community, the starting point of our hike toward the well-known 7 Cañones de Qorihuillca.
From the community, we will begin an approximately 1.5-hour hike through the canyon cracks. Along the route, we will observe the different shapes of the rock walls created by erosion and pass through narrow sections and areas with limited light.
The Qorihuillca Canyons consist of labyrinths of narrow canyon passages and rock walls between 25 and 50 meters high. In some sections, the narrowness of the canyons can create considerable darkness.
After exiting the canyon, we will continue ascending along a trail until reaching a bridle path, which we will follow back toward the starting point.
13:00 hrs. We will finish the tour at the starting point, approximately one block from Ayacucho’s Main Square.
