Enjoy an exciting adventure from Cusco with our Maras Moray and Salt Mines ATV Tour, a full-day experience combining ATV riding, Andean landscapes and cultural attractions. Ride an ATV along the countryside to the Moray Archaeological Site, located at an average altitude of 3,480 m / 11,417 ft, where you can admire its impressive circular terraces and learn about their agricultural importance during the Inca period.

The adventure continues with a visit to the Maras Salt Mines, a pre-Hispanic salt-producing site made up of evaporation ponds. You will have time to take photographs, enjoy the surrounding scenery and purchase local products. The tour includes a short ATV driving practice session before the route begins, so previous riding experience is not required.

Cusco → Cruzpata → Moray → Cruzpata → Maras Salt Mines → Cusco

Note: Pickup and return times are approximate and may vary due to traffic, pickup delays, group pace or other external circumstances. Entrance fees to Moray and the Maras Salt Mines are not included and should be confirmed with the agency before booking. Moray is open to visitors from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Itinerary

Día01

ATV Tour to Moray and Maras Salt Mines

06:00 a.m. – Pickup from Cusco Historic Center:
We begin the tour by picking up passengers from a central location in Cusco. We then travel for 45 minutes to Cruzpata, the starting point of our ATV adventure.

07:15 a.m. – Arrival at Cruzpata and training:
Upon arrival at Cruzpata, we will have a brief 10-minute practice session to familiarize you with the ATVs. No previous experience is required.

07:30 a.m. – ATV ride to Moray:
We will begin our ATV journey to the Moray Archaeological Site. The ride takes approximately 1 hour and offers incredible views of the Andean landscape.

08:30 a.m. – Visit to the circular terraces of Moray:
Once at Moray, you will have free time to explore this fascinating Inca archaeological site, take photos, and learn about its agricultural purpose.

09:30 a.m. – Return to Cruzpata by ATV:
We will return along the same route to our base in Cruzpata. The ride takes approximately 45 minutes.

10:30 a.m. – Tourist bus transfer to the Maras Salt Mines:
We will board the tourist transportation to continue to the Maras Salt Mines. Along the panoramic route, you will be able to admire the Veronica and Chicon snow-capped mountains.

11:00 a.m. – Visit to the Maras Salt Mines:
You will have enough time to take photos, admire the salt pools, and purchase souvenirs or local products.

12:30 p.m. – Return to Cusco:
We will begin our journey back to Cusco in our private transportation.

01:30 p.m. – Arrival in Cusco (near the Plaza de Armas):
We will finish the tour by dropping you off near the city center for your convenience.

***For those who do not wish to visit Moray, you can visit Huaypo Lagoon + Maras Salt Mines at the same time.

***We also offer an afternoon shift, departing at 1:00 p.m. and returning at 7:00 p.m..
